The most common Subnautica 2 Early Access blockers

Most players get stuck at the same three points in the current build. If you are not sure where to look next, start here.

Feedback Resonator — where and how

Players searching for the Feedback Resonator are usually stuck near Angel Comb or a viral bloom route where the basic Sonic Resonator stops working. The Feedback Resonator adds ranged sonic projectiles so you can hit targets that close when you approach. Scan the fragments on the late alien progression route, then craft the upgrade at a Modification Station with 1 Sonic Resonator, 2 Enameled Glass, 2 Conduit Crystal, and 2 Strontium.

Angel Comb — it is a route, not a pickup

Angel Comb looks like a plant you interact with once. It is not. It is an infection network — you clear all the connected Bloom Cankers along the side tendrils first, then return to the central bulb for the Heat Tolerance Adaptation. The first infected Angel Comb is roughly 190–200 meters northwest of the Lifepod. Bring the Sonic Resonator. Without Heat Tolerance you cannot safely enter hot-water biomes or continue toward Tadpole Pens and later progression.

Survivors Waypoint 2 — Camp One and the locked door

Survivors Waypoint 2 is the colonist note inside Camp One, approximately 250 meters north-northeast of your Lifepod. The first room is open and contains the note and a Power Cell Terminal to scan. The second room is locked behind a VIP Data Chip — do not try to brute-force it. After your NOA Terminal registers the Camp One signal, a follow-up transmission directs you toward where to find the chip. Follow that signal instead of searching randomly.

How to use this Subnautica 2 wiki

Sub2Wiki is built around one principle: give the answer first, then explain the route. Every guide page starts with a quick answer box so you can check your situation in seconds without reading a full walkthrough.

Search by what you are stuck on

Type a material name, tool name, biome, creature, or progression blocker into the search bar above. The site will match your query to the most relevant guide and open it directly. If you are not sure of the exact name, try a description — "clear viral bloom", "locked door camp", or "sonic tool upgrade" all route to the right page.

Check the Last Updated field first

Subnautica 2 is in Early Access and changes between patches. Every guide page includes a Last Updated date and a build note. If a route or recipe feels different from what the guide describes, check the date before assuming you are in the wrong place. The game may have changed, not the guide.

Use related pages to build a full route

No single page covers everything you need for a long dive. Each guide ends with a Related pages section that connects to the materials, fragments, creatures, vehicles, and tools relevant to that route. Follow those links to build a complete picture before leaving base — especially for mid-game and late-game expeditions.

Why this homepage is structured this way

Answers before explanation

High-intent searches like “where to find” or “how to get” should land on pages that answer immediately, then provide route details.

One game hub, many detail pages

The complete guide wiki acts as the parent page. Detail pages link back to it and sideways to related materials, tools, and locations.

Database plus guide content

Indexes help users and search engines understand that the site is a connected Subnautica 2 knowledge base, not isolated posts.

Frequently asked questions

What should I do first — Subnautica 2 wiki quick start

Swim south-southeast from your Lifepod to the Welcome Center. Bring or craft a Basic Battery to power it. Once inside, the Bio Lab unlocks your first Biomod selections — Dash and Oxygen Control are the best picks for new players. After choosing your Biomods, scan the Habitat Builder near the Welcome Center. That is the unlock you need to start building a base. From there, follow the NOA Terminal blackbox signals from your Lifepod — they mark missing colonists and lead you to resources, upgrade terminals, and the first progression milestones.

How do I get the Feedback Resonator in Subnautica 2?

Scan the Feedback Resonator fragments on the late alien progression route — specifically around the Angel Comb chain, the Singh blackbox, the Cicada Wreck Therapy Room, and the green-glowing Metal Farms pools. Once the blueprint is complete, craft the upgrade at a Modification Station using 1 Sonic Resonator, 2 Enameled Glass, 2 Conduit Crystal, and 2 Strontium. You must already have the Sonic Resonator before attempting this upgrade. If the route feels too dangerous, prepare the Tadpole vehicle first and split the trip into a scan run and a materials run.

Why won't Angel Comb open in Subnautica 2?

Angel Comb does not open by interacting with the central bulb first. You have to clear the infection network around it. Follow the tendrils or side chambers extending from the main structure and destroy every connected Bloom Canker or viral bloom target using the Sonic Resonator. Once all connected targets are cleared, return to the central bulb — it becomes interactive and rewards the Heat Tolerance Adaptation. If a bloom target closes before you can hit it, back up and use the Feedback Resonator instead of the basic Sonic Resonator.

What does Heat Tolerance do in Subnautica 2?

Heat Tolerance is the adaptation reward from clearing the infected Angel Comb. Without it, hot-water biomes and volcanic zones are unsafe or inaccessible. With it, you can continue toward deeper progression including gold routes, Tadpole Pens, advanced materials, and later story objectives. Heat Tolerance is effectively a biome unlock — the game does not tell you this clearly, which is why players who skip the Angel Comb route often feel like they have hit a wall with no obvious next step.

Where is Survivors Waypoint 2 in Subnautica 2?

Survivors Waypoint 2 is a colonist note inside Camp One, approximately 250 meters north-northeast of your Lifepod. Follow the NOA Terminal blackbox signal to navigate there — it is more reliable than trying to hold a precise compass bearing. Enter Camp One through the underside opening of the wreckage. The first room has the note and a Power Cell Terminal you can scan. A second locked room requires a VIP Data Chip; the NOA Terminal will issue a follow-up transmission directing you toward it after you register the Camp One signal.

How do I get Salt in Subnautica 2?

Salt appears in the southeast cave route from your Lifepod early in the game. It also becomes available in deeper biomes as you expand your routes. Salt is a key ingredient in the Power Cell crafting chain and has food-related uses, making it one of the most important materials to stock early. Do not wait until you need it for a recipe — collect it opportunistically during any nearby dive once you know where to look.

What is the Subnautica 2 Sonic Resonator for?

The Sonic Resonator is the first resonator tool in the game. It mines large ore deposits, breaks early mineral nodes, clears basic Bloom Biofilm, and is the required tool for the first Angel Comb clearing route. Scan the two Sonic Resonator fragments to unlock the blueprint, then craft it at a Fabricator. The Sonic Resonator is also the base component for the Feedback Resonator upgrade later in the game — do not skip it or try to go straight to the Feedback Resonator.

Is Subnautica 2 on Game Pass? — Subnautica 2 wiki answer
